nope dsl goes thru you home phone i suggest cable modem dsl is bunk you’ll never get the speed you’re actually paying for from dsl and dsl tends to lose its connection frequently . cable you’ll never have this problem and better you wont have to subscribe for cable if u dont have it unlike dsl

The ADSL signal is transported on the same pair of wires that carries a voice service. If you want ADSL you have to have a voice line. You can pay for but not use a voice line if you wish.

If you want symetric DSL (SDSL), it requires a phone line but it is not used for voice. SDSL is slower in download speed than ADSL and more costly - and not all carriers provide this.

I got DSL through Verizon without home phone service. It costs $4.00 more than DSL would on top of phone service, I assume to handle some sort of overhead. But that’s still cheaper than Cable Internet or Phone Service + DSL.

So it is possible, most Tel-Co’s are bastards though, and require you to get phone service. I think it’s a monopolistic practice really.

    A.) It is possible.
B.) Most companies wont do it.

From what I can tell, Verizon is an outlier in providing this service.

Yes, your ISP may support this. It is called “Naked DSL”
